About Us

Hiring a string quartet from Fortune Strings for your live entertainment adds a touch of luxury to your event or wedding. Having trained at the UK’s top conservatoires, our passion is music and we would love to bring our talent to you. Our musicians have performed at Maida Vale studios, for royalty and with some of the UK’s top orchestras and artists.

Fortune Strings is based in Lichfield, Staffordshire, making us ideally situated to travel to Birmingham, Derbyshire, Warwickshire, Leicestershire – anywhere within the East Midlands and West Midlands, although we will happily travel further afield.

Our Fortune Strings players have unrivalled experience of playing within the corporate and entertainment industry. Members have played for Rolls-Royce, Toyota and Boots, to name just a few, and have even had the pleasure of playing for royalty. From light classical and romantic music for formal, sophisticated evenings, to jazz and modern pieces for bar openings and birthday celebrations (plus don’t forget our festive music for the perfect Christmas party!), we know how crucial creating the perfect atmosphere for your guests is; that is why we communicate effectively from the early stages of booking ensuring we have all the necessary details and discuss the musical styles with you.

The most popular choice of ensemble is the string quartet and we will always recommend booking a string quartet. Most of our string arrangements are written specifically for string quartet and require all instruments to be present to hear the full effect…plus having four musicians gives the ‘classic’ look. Whilst our string quartet might be the most expensive option, it is worth it to celebrate in style and hear your favourite songs played in their best possible form. However, we do pride ourselves on being able to offer our live music entertainment to help suit all budgets, so hiring our Fortune Trio for your wedding is a great choice for when budget is tight or there is less space available at your venue. The trio’s repertoire, while smaller than that of our Fortune Quartet, still encompasses most tastes and styles.
